OOTD: Orange You Glad It’s Fall?

I’m originally from the Virgin Islands. Suffice it to say that where I come from, there’s no such thing as winter. Or fall, for that matter. So my first few years of life in the states consisted of me rabidly hating the slightest hint of a chill. But I’ve been here long enough to now be comfortable with the months of cold weather. In fact, I look forward to fall now, because it means a return of layers, boots and warm, fuzzy clothing.

I found this velvet blazer during a recent trip to my favorite consignment store, and I had to have it. I was a little dismayed when I saw that the size is 14 petite, but as I mentioned in my thrifting tips post, don’t judge a thrifted item based on size alone. I took it to the fitting room, and it fit beautifully!

I paired it with some thrifted jeans and orange pumps that I’ve had for months, with no real clue on how to style them. The blazer solved that problem 🙂

I’ve been having a lot of fun with accessories too, and I used this opportunity to wear some of my favorite pieces with turquoise accents and add my favorite eco-friendly purse from Make Love Not Trash.

Later in the day, I styled the outfit with a headwrap, just for kicks and giggles. Here’s a shot of that look:

This is one of my favorite looks I’ve done thus far in my outfit of the day series. It’s simple and stylish, I can wear it anywhere and it involved velvet without looking like I was going to a holiday party. Winning. Lol!

  1. You are showing off now, lol. <3 this look. I haven't wanted to put together anything as of late and nursing has made it kinda hard. I looove Seven7 Jeans. I discovered them from Dr. Jay's.
