This has been a long summer, and I’ll admit I’m looking forward to the start of the new school year. Not just because my daughter will be out of the house for a large chunk of the day, but also because it’s time for back to school shopping! This is one of the few times of year when I can shop, guilt-free, because I know my daughter needs new clothes, shoes, etc. to replace the things she has outgrown. So when Walmart challenged me to see how far $100 would go when shopping for back to school fashion, I jumped at the chance!
Take a look at this video to see my haul:
I am still a little bitter about the fact that Walmart’s back to school fashion selection no longer includes organic cotton and organic cotton blends, which used to be large part of their Faded Glory line. I’m told this is because of cost, but I definitely miss being able to buy inexpensive organic options. Because as much as I love shopping green, it’s just not feasible most of the time for me to pay $35+ for a single organic item that my daughter will outgrow long before we get our money’s worth. That said, I’m pretty happy with what we were able to get to supplement her existing wardrobe. There were a lot of great denim options, many of which were on clearance, and as you can see in the video, I was VERY excited to find Fubu brand sneakers in the shoe department! The quality of the shoes is great, and I’m confident my daughter will get a lot of wear out of them.
Where do you plan to do your back to school shopping?
