Maybe it’s because my husband and I are originally from the Caribbean and grew up with their music, or maybe it is because my hubby is a reggae artist. Whatever the reason, we are both huge music lovers and fans of the Marley family and their music and various product lines. So when we learned that they have ventured into the world of music technology, we were more than a little excited.
The Marleys, under their House of Marley label, recently introduced a line of sustainable music accessories, including high-quality speakers and headphones. From their website:
Bob believed in a better world, forged from passion, love and responsibility. Now it’s up to us, to turn his ideals in actions and his principles into products. Piece by piece, we’ll create the world he imagined, through products that give joy and give back.
The new line of audio products includes three collections: Jammin’, featuring bright colors and futuristic designs; Freedom, featuring wood tones and more subdued product styling; and Destiny, with sharper lines and chrome accents. The collections include earbuds, headphones, docking stations, speakers and boom boxes, and the products are currently available for pre-order.
But here’s the sweetest part. The House of Marley audio collections feature FSC-certified wood and recycled/recyclable aluminum and plastics. What’s more, a portion of the company’s proceeds go to 1Love.org, a nonprofit, created in partnership with the Marley family, that benefits charities that empower youth, protect the planet and encourage global peace. Partners include charity:water and UNEP.
I think I’m in love…
