Sites like Groupon, Eversave and Gilt Groupe have changed the way people shop online. If you’re unfamiliar, these sites generally offer products and services at steep discounts, but only for a very limited time. Most sales last 24 hours, though some last a few days or up to a week. But while they’re great for the average shopper, I usually have to spend quite a bit of time picking through their offerings to find green products, on the rare occasions when they are available.
I recently discovered two sites that will make your search for discounted eco-friendly offerings a lot easier. Pure Citizen and Blissmo both focus exclusively on green products and companies. They each offer deals on everything from recycled jewelry to sustainable food and everything in between. Pure Citizen offers daily deals, while Blissmo is working with a weekly model.
I can’t think of a better way to save money and buy green at the same time.
- Pure Citizen is offering 30% off Hovey Lee eco-friendly jewelry. I’m a big fan of Hovey Lee and I have my eye on a couple of pieces to give as gifts for the holidays. Pure Citizen requires you to sign up before you can view the deals. (aff)
- Blissmo is offering 50% off a pro membership at Thred Up, a site that allows parents to swap their kids’ clothing to reduce both consumption and waste.
Sign up for both sites and check back daily for anything you might need (not just want). These will be particularly helpful if you’re starting your holiday shopping early.
