So…the name of this blog is Green & Gorgeous, and I do a lot of outfit posts, right? So you might be wondering why you don’t see sustainable clothing options more often. Well, the truth is that it can be really difficult to find stylish organic (or otherwise sustainable) clothing options for a plus-size girl like myself. I’ve complained about this before. Someone up there must have been listening, because Synergy Organic Clothing recently contacted me to alert me to their beautiful collection — which goes up to an XXL. That is still rare in today’s green fashion world.

Their catalog is full of beautiful, breezy pieces that completely debunk traditional ideas of what green fashion means. Take this first dress, for example. The Athena caftan is pretty much the perfect maxi dress. It is lightweight enough to work throughout the scorching summer months, and versatile enough to be worn casually as a swimsuit coverup, or — similar to my styling — slightly more dressed up with accessories.

I’m wearing an XXL, and it is roomy enough to allow me to nurse baby Juliza without tons of extra effort — something that’s tough to find in dresses these days. I love everything about it, including the icy blue color, though it is available in several additional colorways.

Now this second dress, the Padme, is the perfect choice for embracing my curves. They are more abundant today than they were before I had baby Juliza, but you know what? I’m perfectly OK with that and I’m loving my body through all the changes.

This dress has a subtle stretch that really hugged me and made me feel sexy — which I’m sure my husband appreciated when he was shooting these photos. And even better, it’s like getting two dresses in one. I wore the Padme with the “belt” detail in front, but it can also be worn the other way, with the draped neckline in front (see the third photo). This option would be perfect for nursing. And worn that way, I’d wear heels and big hair, possibly for a date night look.

I’m going to be keeping my eye on Synergy Organic Clothing, because I think the best is yet to come. If I had one request, it would be to see some options with patterns. There are some pieces in stripes, but I’d love to see some florals and graphic prints as well!

  1. That green dress looks fabulous on you–especially nice with the orange necklace! I’ve been browsing the Synergy site for awhile now but haven’t bought anything yet.

  2. Forgot to mention that I think my favorite of their styles is the Matilda dress in Seafoam!

  3. You know what I love so much? Normally with companies, it’s only one way or another. They either have Style “X” in plus-sizes or not. I love that the padme dress you had on goes all the way from Small to XXL. That said, I’m totally loving the dragonfly maxi dresses. Looking at the models wearing them, they might actually be short enough to fit on me without dragging on the ground if I have my highest sandals on. That’s hard to come by.

  4. Those not only look beautiful, but comfy too. And of course you are rocking it as usual.

I’m loving the high low flutter skirt from the website–you could dress it up or down, and being short I prefer to show a bit of leg instead of wearing a maxi skirt–this one combines both.

  5. I would choose the Dragonfly Maxi Tank Dress in Aqua. Thank you for the wonderful giveaway.

  6. Yay! Cute clothes for all sizes! I love that the lines go from one end of the size spectrum to the other. The same cute options for everyone 🙂 All of their striped dresses are really cute!

  7. You look amazing! I love the simple ness and softness of synergy clothing! I adore that shade of bluish green also! 😍

  8. You look stunning and are definitely rockin’ those dresses! I especially loved the Padme on you. They have so many great looks and styles. I really liked their slip on reversible dress in sand or the Moto jacket!

  9. These look great on you! Those colors and simple lines–love!

I’d probably pick the Cowlneck tunic in sand or the Athena dress as my favorite.

  10. I love both pieces on you. These clothes are great for an on the go Mom! I love that they are fashion forward, and conscious!

  11. Poppy Isabella Dress in Wheat
They work mostly with organic cotton from India, that is dyed with low impact dyes. Use fair trade practices with Nepal.

  12. I can’t decide between the Navy/White Striped Karina Dress and the Navy/White Striped Belted Dress

  13. Although the Athena Kaftan you have on in your first picture is gorgeous! I think I’d prefer to win that! You just make it look so beautiful!

  14. There are so many beautiful pieces and I really like the dresses, but I’d probably choose the peasant top simply because I’d wear it more.
