Disney Makes Vitamins My Daughter is Excited to Take

You may remember that a few years ago, my daughter was diagnosed with leukemia, and she officially completed treatment last summer. During the two and a half years she was on treatment, she had to take a long list of medications, mostly in pill form. This started when she was just four years old.

As you can imagine, ever since then, she’s been pretty put off by the idea of taking pills for any reason. Not even chewable vitamin pills which — let’s be honest — never really taste so hot. And while we try to eat a lot of fruits and veggies to get our vitamins and minerals naturally, both my husband and I still take multivitamins and wanted our daughter to do the same.

She’s been seeing the commercials for Disney’s new gummy vitamins on TV for weeks, so when Walmart offered me an opportunity to try them, I was only too happy to oblige. (aff)

To give you an idea of the nutritional value involved, the vitamins contain more than 10 essential vitamins and minerals, including vitamins A, B, C and D, which will help boost eye health, energy and immune strength, and they contain no artificial flavors or colors. There is also a new fiber gummy vitamin that contains 3 grams of fiber per serving, along with a sugar-free option.

I never thought she would get excited about vitamins, but lo and behold, as soon as I opened the box, she wanted to try one. She chose the Monster’s University themed gummies and took one with dinner.

Let me just put it this way: She wanted a second one. She said they are really juicy, though they’re not super sweet, which makes them feel like a treat. And every day since, she’s taken a gummy vitamin without me having to remind her. I’d say that makes them a win.

In addition to Monster’s University, we received, Phineas & Ferb, Mickey and Avengers themed gummies — enough to last us for a long while.

I’m honestly just thrilled to have found something we won’t have to force her to take.
