For the first time this season, it seems as though warm Atlanta weather is finally here to stay, and I can admit I am thrilled! Though I am used to wearing long pants even when its warm, it will be so nice when I can keep my legs covered by choice, rather than by necessity.
This weekend, my family and I went to the Virgin Islands Transfer Day basketball tournament because my hubby was actually playing on a team. For the occasion, I needed a comfortable outfit that would make sitting on hard bleachers for a few hours as bearable as possible. So I stole borrowed a pair of jeans from my husband’s closet for the “boyfriend jean” effect. Except I call them “hubby jeans.”
While they fit relatively well, I think my next pair of boyfriend jeans will actually be made for women. Essentially, men’s jeans have to room at all in the hip and butt area, so I wound up with a snug hip, but a roomy waist. They LOOKED really great, though 🙂
Paired with a thrifted blazer, my new favorite sneakers ever and some patterned bracelets from Walmart’s Empowering Women Together collection, I felt comfortable, but still reasonably well put together. I felt like one of the cool kids 🙂

My daughter, on the other hand, has been itching to wear something girly and swingy, and this great floral top we recently found at Target hit the mark on both accounts. She had too much fun spinning and twirling in it.
She was also my photographer this week. I shot her outfit photos and then she shot mine — which is why we don’t have any photos together this time. But didn’t she do an awesome job? I told her she may have found her calling 🙂
We thoroughly enjoyed the weather, and we’re both looking forward to more days of bare shoulders and legs and trips to the swimming pool. For now, we’re just thankful we can step outside in the morning without a winter coat.
