Spring is really toying with my emotions. After 70-degree temperatures last week, this week just up and dropped some 30s, 40s and icy wind on us. Extreme side eye. I had all my gorgeous spring outfits planned out in my head, and none of them covered enough skin to fight off the frost. So I had to go back to my cold-weather thinking to find something both warm and cute  — warm being the primary objective. Don’t let the sunshine in these photos fool you. It was cold.

Also, please forgive the glare on the photos below. I loved the poses, so I figured I’d use them anyway 🙂

I went back to my trusty peplum, paired with hot pink skinnies I’ve been itching to wear. A coat was a MUST, so I decided to try something I’ve never done before: I belted my coat with a leopard belt for a little dash of something unexpected, taking a cue from the ever-fabulous Sarah Hulbert. I really loved the look, and the belt also worked under the coat.

Overall, I was warm and comfortable, and I still felt like my best, most stylish self. Plus, if I replace the boots with strappy sandals, roll the bottom of the jeans, and get rid of the coat, I can still wear this when the weather is permanently warmer.

  1. this outfit inspires me to want to add a little pink to my closet and i love how you cinched the coat at the waist with the leopard belt. very flattering and a simple way to dress up an otherwise drab (but essential) necessity! here’s to warmer days ahead and cute spring outfits!

  2. I love this peplum top and it looks great with the leopard belt. Very stylish!

    1. What’s the background color on your floral pants? If you pair it with black, they’ll definitely be the standout of your outfit 🙂

    1. Thanks Jacqueline! I’ve definitely learned the power of accessorizing. You don’t need a ton, but the right pieces can really make an outfit sing 🙂

    1. Sarah, so funny you should mention them. These are my FIRST pair of sunglasses, because I usually don’t like them. I felt like I was channeling my inner movie star in them…lol.
