As soon as I saw this skirt in my mother’s closet, I knew I had to have it. It has about a million panels of fabric that make it full and flouncy (and a real pain in the butt to iron). It was love at first sight. It’s the kind of skirt that makes you want to twirl…
My mother was happy to oblige, since she said she’d had it for a really long time and never worn it. Score!
I immediately knew I wanted to style it with a chambray shirt, so I was pleasantly surprised to discover that the ever fabulous Nadia Aboulhosn had worn a denim shirt and white skirt a few weeks back. Her skirt was tulle and sheer, but I love the idea that we had such a similar idea of how to style a big white skirt. You can see her take on it here.
I’ve also been experimenting with the idea of showing a little skin. Not too much. Just a peek of midriff here and there. I’ve come a long way, but my stomach is far from flat. But guess what? I’ve learned to love it anyway, stretch marks and all, because it is the body I’m in today, and that’s all that matters. Plus, my husband/photographer thinks it’s pretty sexy. *wink*
I considered wearing some super sexy silver heels I recently bought from ShoeDazzle, but realistically, they were going to come off as soon as I finished shooting because they are not comfortable. At all. So I kept it real and wore my flats. Though there was a moment when I decided to take my shoes off and get my twirl on. Again.
Hey. I’m all about making fashion fun. And trying not to show my underwear when I twirl in a fancy skirt on a windy day.

twirl baby twirl! and i must say your mom has some style! love the skirt paired with the chambray. i don’t have much white in my closet simply because i don’t think i would be able to keep it clean, but you’ve inspired me to add some this spring! and your confidence makes these pictures that much more beautiful! enjoy your day pretty lady;)
Thanks Chandra! I was worried about keeping it clean too, but it was too fabulous to pass up for that reason alone. I ate ice cream in it with no problems, so I might start buying more white myself ๐
You are beyond fabulous with everything you wear, ahhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Thanks Christina! I loved your chambray with the lace. It’s one of those pieces that will never go out of style and can be worn a million different ways ๐
