I don’t know if you can tell, but I can’t WAIT for spring! The weather in Georgia is a big tease. We’ll have a day or two in the 60s, but then it will drop back down to the 30s and even 20s for a full week just to remind me that we’re not there yet. This week, I decided that if spring wouldn’t come to me, I’d create my own spring with my outfit.

This dress is a big statement about how far I’ve come in terms of body confidence. Not only does it feature a very bold, noticeable floral print, but it’s also a body con dress — something I NEVER would’ve worn a year ago. I never thought I could feel comfortable, or even less, confident, in something so form fitting, but you know what? I felt beautiful and sexy.

The length of the dress was a bit awkward for me, as it hit me at mid-calf. I couldn’t decide what shoes to wear, and nothing looked “right” — until I put on my favorite Aerosoles riding boots. They felt like the perfect complement to the dress and kept me warm on a chilly not-yet-spring day.

I needed something special, so I added a neon pink crossbody bag from Target that I am absolutely in LOVE with. It’s not as big as my typical everyday bags, but I can carry all the necessities. And frankly, it’s cute enough to make me leave all of the “stuff” I usually carry in my larger purses at home.

Seriously though, spring needs to get a move on. I already have at least a handful of warm weather outfits planned in my head, and I’m getting really impatient to wear them :)

Floral prints make me so nervous, but you definitely rocked this dress! :D It looks great Jennae. That’s one of your outfits I’d love to see done as a mommy-and-me with your little girl since it’s so bright and playful.

Thanks Brooke! I usually stay away from florals too, because it’s tough to find ones that are modern enough for my taste. This one is bold and I just felt great in it. And trust me when I say I have a great idea for a shoot with my daughter that’s coming up soon :)

Thanks Shon! I’m definitely keeping this dress around for another opportunity. I’m really glad I shot this yesterday when it was windy and rainy, but not very cold. Because it is frigid today!

Abby, I actually bought a different dress from them and had to send it back because it was too big. The sizing is definitely a trial an error process, but I’m glad I sent the other one back because I found this beauty. I am surprised at myself, but I love this dress and the way it fit. :)

Thanks Channing! Once I decided I wanted a pink cross-body bag, Target was the first place that came to mind, and they didn’t disappoint. They had this one in several colors, and a bunch of other styles too :)

Wow, I love how this dress fits you, I may have to bite the bullet and try one as well. Come on Spring…hope it’s behind this snow storm heading to the Mid-Atlantic.

Antoinette, you should try it! I never thought I’d like it and that I’d be self-conscious, but the result was the exact opposite. I loved it and I felt comfortable and confident.

I don’t envy anyone in the path of the storm. It’s already freezing in GA today. I don’t think I could handle snow too. I’m just waiting for permanent warm days.
