Have you ever had an outfit that you put together in your head long before you ever got to wear it? I’ve been envisioning this look for weeks, but couldn’t find the “right” time to wear it. This past weekend, I just said screw it and wore it just because. My daughter, hubby and I ran some errands and did a little window shopping at our favorite outdoor mall, and it was perfect for the occasion — meaning no occasion at all.

See, I’m still overcoming the faulty idea that I need a reason to dress well. If I live by that guideline, I’ll NEVER dress up. After all, I work from home with no dress code, so most days, I can just work in my pajamas and call it a day.

But where’s the fun in that, right? I feel so much more alive when I actually make an effort to style an outfit, whether I have somewhere to go or for no reason at all other than I feel like it.

And quite frankly, that should be all it takes. I felt like a million bucks in this outfit. The way the side ruching accentuates my curves and the look of the ruffled scarf and leather jacket, all together, just felt…right.

Fitting, given that the color green represents harmony and balance.
