#Cinchspiration Week 4 Update (+ Video!)

As promised, I’m back again this week to let you know how I’ve been doing on my journey to a healthier, happier me. It’s been four weeks since I started using the Shaklee 180 weight loss program, and I’m doing pretty well. There are days when I’m sick of shakes and meal bars, and there are days when I’m thankful for the convenience of not having to think about breakfast and lunch too much. There are days when I wake up planning how I’ll exercise for the day, and there are other days when I wish I didn’t have to exercise at all. Which is probably true for anyone else who is trying to lose weight.

Speaking of exercise, before I show you my measurements for the week, I want to share this painfully embarrassing video of me dancing exercising. I’ll look away so you can watch:

Honestly though, the only way I’ll force myself to exercise is if I make it fun. It doesn’t hurt that dancing — vigorous dancing, anyway — burns a ton of calories. I move with the music and forget that I’m working out, and that’s the best kind of workout there is.

I also want to share a couple of before & after pics and my measurements:

No Earth-shattering changes yet, but I’m making progress.  I’ve lost 6.5 pounds and 9 inches so far (1 pound & 1 inch of that since last week).  I’m honestly very proud of myself for sticking with it for a whole month, and I really can’t wait see to the comparison photos at the end of month 6!

Disclosure: I was chosen by Shaklee to be a #Cinchspiration blogger. As a result, I will receive a 6-month supply of Shaklee 180 products along with online support and incentives as I document my journey. As usual, all opinions are authentic and mine. Results and experiences are unique for each person, so results may vary. People following the weight loss portion of Shaklee 180 can expect to lose 1-2 pounds a week.

Hi! I'm Jennae Petersen and I'm the eco diva who had the bright idea to share my journey toward green living with the blogosphere. Stick around for a while!

  1. I love the video of you dancing! Congratulations on your inches lost!!! 9 inches that is wonderful! and it shows! oh and the smile in your picture is also showing 🙂 I love it!

    1. Thanks Maribel! Making the video was easy, but when I looked at the playback, I felt SO self-conscious! I just had to laugh at myself and hit publish 🙂

  2. Awesome!! You can see how extra loose the tank top is in the current photo. Congrats on the progression. Very inspiring.

  3. Awesome job! Great video too! I have tried both Zumba and Just Dance and I’m so not coordinated, however I like doing my own dancing throughout the house of moves I have learned from both dvds. And girl, your going to have to get a new tank top before too long–It looks like your body is shrinking underneath it! 🙂

    1. Mandee, I like Dance Central better than Just Dance. With Just Dance on the Wii, you can just move your hands and “fool” the game. With Dance Central for the XBOX Kinect, you have no choice but to move your whole body. So even if you don’t do the dances correctly, you’ll get a workout just trying 😉

  4. I love the video! You shake it girl! 9 inches – that’s a lot! Way to go! I can totally tell from the picture too! Keep up the GREAT work!

    1. Thanks Sommer! What can I say? I’m from the Caribbean and the first parts of my body I learned to move are my waist and hips. So Zumba is PERFECT for me!

    1. Thanks Kelly! I know myself enough to admit that I’m not the type of person who’s going to get up and take 5-mile walks around my neighborhood or go to the gym every day. So anything I can do in my living room is a plus, and anything that’s actually fun is even better!

    1. Thank you Jill! The shakes are really good once you figure out how to mix and match them to suit your tastes. I love adding fruit, and I know some of the other ladies who are doing the challenge like to mix a scoop of chocolate and a scoop of vanilla.

  5. You are doing such a great job, I’m proud of you and can see the shrinkage! I need to pick up Dance Central & Zumba, looks like fun… my waist is so stiff right now, lol.
