This year, Father’s Day has fallen on the weekend when we’re moving. We did most of the heavy lifting today, but there’s still lots of work to be done. So I had to come up with a special gift for my hubby that I could find quickly and easily. That may not sound like a tough task, but I was determined NOT to give him the obligatory necktie, underwear or bottle of cologne. And as usual, I wanted to give a conscientious gift.
Who would’ve guessed that Walmart would solve that problem for me?
A few days ago, my daughter and I picked up a “Dad and Me” recordable story book. Basically, each page features a question, and a button that allows me to record a conversation with my daughter based on that question.
For example, one question was “what games do you like to play with Dad?” While recording, I asked the question and my daughter answered.
This gift is made extra special because my daughter is spending most of Father’s Day with my nieces so we can finish moving. This way, he’ll get a little piece of her on his special day before we pick her up in the evening.
And let me tell you — some of her answers were really comical! I wish I had made a video! If you need a last minute gift for Dad, this is a great choice!
