2010 Green Gift Guide is Live!

I know that we haven’t even reached Thanksgiving yet, but if there’s one thing I’ve learned about finding holiday gifts, it’s that it’s best done early (especially when shopping online). Hence, the Green Your Decor Green Gift Guide is live!

This year, in addition to all the fabulous gifts you can buy from green companies and artisans for everyone on your list, I also added another category: Gifts you can Make Yourself.

Given the state of the economy, everyone is looking for ways to save a little extra money, and I want to help however I can. These gifts can be made either from things you likely already have around the house, or from materials that are readily available and relatively inexpensive.

Want to see what I mean? Check out this video and recipe for Mostly Organic Carrot Cupcakes, which is featured in the gift guide!

Other than that, you’ll still find great green gifts you’ll love to give in every budget, and I’ll be adding more over the next few weeks. Have a suggestion for a gift? Feel free to submit it now! I’ll credit you if it is featured! For brands, Etsy shops and retail store owners, there are opportunities for you to get involved too. Feel free to submit your product for consideration for the gift guide, and I’ll contact you with more information.

Save Even More!

I also recently updated the functionality of the Green Your Decor Deals & Coupons page to help you save even more. The top of the page now features a variety of eco-friendly, time sensitive deals from sites like:

NOTE: The sites with two stars next to their name (**) feature ONLY eco-friendly products and services.

Instead of having to visit each of these sites individually, you can find all the best green deals here. These sites often offer products and services for insane deals, sometimes up to 80% off, but only for a short time. Each day, you’ll be able to quickly scan the page to see when these sites have eco-friendly deals. You’ll find everything from organic clothing to to jewelry, toys and even deals on eco-friendly travel (when available). You’ll also be able to see when the sales and deals are ending, so you can decide if it’s worth it to act now.

This is a great place to find gift ideas as well, and you can save a lot of money. A few days ago, I took advantage of a special at Eversave that offered $35 gift certificates to green retailer Wild Dill for just $12! I bought two of them that I’ll use to buy holiday gifts for a couple kids on my list.

Hopefully the coupon page and gift guide will be useful to you this year!
