For anyone who has never tried food flavored with curry, trying it for the first time is a bit like going on an expedition. You can imagine what it will be like, but your expectations can never really quite match up to the actual experience of doing it. I grew up in the Virgin Islands, and food and sauces flavored with curry are a common part of our cuisine. Even now, my husband and I often cook with curry. But like with everything else in our everyday lives, we’re looking for sustainable alternatives when we can. So when I discovered Mike Organic Curry Love powders, I knew I’d be an easy sell.
I haven’t tried them yet, but how could I not look forward to flavors like Luscious Yellow Thai Curry and Blissful Banana Ginger Curry?AND they’re organic? Where do I sign up? I can see why they’re called “Curry Love.” My husband is definitely the chef between us, and his face lit up when I showed him these spices. With a little curry and my hubby’s infinite talent in the kitchen, he can even make tofu a delicacy, so I can’t wait to see what he’d do with these flavors.
My only complaint? They are only available in brick and mortar stores in California, so I’ll have to make my purchase online. A small price to pay, though, to replace my current McCormick curry powder with something organic. I’ll let you know how it works out once we try them.
